Price declines in four weeks for Brazilian HDG exports

The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) for export from Brazil to South American countries is $900/mt today, against $940/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.

In July, Brazil exported 20,200 mt and imported 46,900 mt of HDG against respectively 13,900 mt and 59,900 mt in June.

The destinations of the exports in July were South American countries (11,200 mt at $1,283/mt) and the US (9,000 mt at $903/mt), FOB conditions.

The exporters were CSN (9,100 mt at $904/mt), Usiminas (7,800 mt at $1,339/mt), and ArcelorMittal (3,300 mt at $1,157/mt).

The imports were from Asia (46,400 mt, of which 43,800 mt at $701/mt from China), and Europe (500 mt at $1,353/mt), also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers in medium to large volumes to end users or distributors, at BRL 5,950/mt ($1,100/mt), against $6,100/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
