One Brazilian slab exporter is about to close the last deals for shipment in November, with an average price of $540/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades. The price compares to $555/mt, the price level for the deals closed for the first shipments in November.

According to analysts, slab producers are having their margins squeezed by production costs, but they reportedly find it difficult to increase prices, as their clients are having a similar problem in relation to production costs and the price of their rolled products.

The sales for shipments in December are expected to start in two weeks, having $540/mt as price target.
