Italy is currently preparing for its holiday season, which explains the sluggishness of general domestic demand in the country. Compared to past weeks, the prices for Chinese-origin HRC in the domestic market have fallen by €30/mt to €715-720/mt ex-warehouse, excluding VAT, with 60-day deferred payment. Russian-origin HRC is being sold in the Italian domestic market at the level of €750-760/mt ex-warehouse, excluding VAT, also with 60-day deferred payment. On the other hand, Italian producer Ilva’s domestic price for HRC is at €800-810/mt ex-works, excluding VAT.
