China’s domestic stainless steel prices have mostly moved down during the past seven days.
Global nickel prices have fallen sharply during the past week. On April 8, the three-month nickel price at the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed at $14,150/mt, while LME nickel inventory on the same date totaled 202,938 mt.
Overall trading activity in the domestic stainless steel market has been slack in the past week amid strong fluctuations in the markets. Due to the US tariff policy, prices of nickel and other raw materials have indicated strong decreases, causing most domestic stainless steel prices to decrease also. As for the week ahead, it is believed that stainless steel prices will continue to decrease given the current uncertainties.
