China’s domestic stainless steel market has mostly moved on a stable trend in the past week, though with some slight price upticks also seen.
Global nickel prices have increased compared to one week earlier. On June 26, the three-month nickel price at the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed at $14,785/mt, while LME nickel inventory on the same date totaled 274,176 mt.
Overall trading activity in the domestic stainless steel market has been slack in the past week, while some prices have moved up slightly with the support of nickel prices and environmental protection measures. However, most traders have chosen to keep their prices stable. As for the coming week, domestic stainless steel prices may soften slightly as traders are usually under pressure from tight liquidity as the end of the month draws closer.
