According to market sources, transaction prices in the local Italian hot rolled coil (HRC) have increased further in the past week, to €480-490/mt ($547-559/mt) ex-works, from the previous levels of €475-485/mt ($542-553/mt) ex-works. Local demand is still at low levels, but, according to sources, distributors and service centers are now beginning to need to conclude purchases to replenish their stocks, and this is why they have stepped their inquiries to mills. Meanwhile, import HRC offers are currently at €495-505/mt ($564-576/mt) CFR Italy.
