Over the past week, hot rolled coil (HRC) offers from China, India and Taiwan to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have remained unchanged at $615-620/mt CFR, while demand is still slack. In the given period, an Indian steel producer concluded a deal to the UAE at $615/mt CFR Dubai. Having adopted a cautious stance in terms of new bookings for a while now, UAE-based buyers are expected to maintain this stance since Ramadan has started and as HRC demand in the UAE is expected to remain week in the coming period.
