Demand for import flat steel in Turkey has remained weak as buyers have preferred to stand back and monitor the trend of the global flat steel market. In the past week, Turkish buyers have concluded ex-CIS flat steel purchases of small volumes, while ex-CIS flat steel prices have continued to move down as result of the downward pressure in the global market.

Ex-CIS flat steel offers to Turkey have moved down by $10/mt compared to the previous week, with Ukrainian hot rolled coil (HRC) offers falling to $460/mt CFR, while Russian HRC offers have declined to $465-480/mt CFR, both week on week. Meanwhile, Ukrainian cold rolled coil (CRC) offers to Turkey have moved down by $10/mt week on week to $500-505/mt CFR and Russian CRC offers have decreased by $10/mt over the same period to $510-520/mt CFR.
