Slab offers in the Brazilian domestic market are currently negotiated at $380/mt FOB, against $370/mt FOB one month ago, a local market source told SteelOrbis. The reference price range refers to the base commercial grades.

The domestic slab market in Brazil is currently estimated around 60,000 mt in purchases per month, with CSN reducing acquisitions and Usiminas maintaining the volume acquired. Pecem and Ternium remain in the supply side.

No imports of slab have reached Brazilian ports in October and September, while 57,000 mt of slab was imported in August by Usiminas from Russia at $403/mt, and 200 mt from China at $828/mt, both FOB conditions and different quality grades.
