Demand for imported plate has started to recover in the Turkish market. Meanwhile, producers state that they may offer lower prices if they receive firm bids. After import plate offers from Ukrainian and Macedonian mills to Turkey softened by $5-15/mt, the demand side has started to shown some improvements. On the other hand, ex-Europe plate offers have been following a sideways trend, while new offers are expected to be announced in the coming week.

Steel plate offers to Turkey given by Ukrainian steel producer Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works are now standing at $610-615/mt CFR for September shipments, while Bulgarian producer Stomana's July output steel plate offers to Turkey are still at the base price level of  €540/mt ($669/mt) CFR and Macedonian mill Makstil's offers are at $810/mt CFR for shipments in August.

In the meantime, an Italian steel producer is still offering RTT (rolled to thickness) plate to Turkey at the base price level of €525/mt ($650/mt) CFR, while some other European mills' steel plate offers are at an average price level of €580/mt ($718/mt) CFR. All above prices are for July production.
