Demand after the Easter holiday in the local European flat steel market has continued to improve, in line with expectations, while market sources state that most of the current demand is being met through local supply. European exporters are supported by the euro which is still weak against the US dollar, while import offers to the European region are considered to be unattractive. Meanwhile, in the local European market hot rolled coil (HRC) prices are currently in the range of €400-430/mt ($428-460/mt), cold rolled coil (CRC) prices are now at €450-480/mt ($482-514/mt), while hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil prices are at €480-500/mt ($514-535/mt), all on ex-works basis.
