CRC imports in Brazil are negotiated in average at $710/mt, CFR conditions, stable from two weeks ago, according to sources.
In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 6,300/mt ($1,031/mt) against BRL 6,400/mt two weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
In December, Brazil exported 7,300 mt and imported 8,700 mt of CRC against 2,500 mt and 32,400 mt in November.
The sharp decline in imports reflects postponements of customs clearings for material already stocked in Brazilian ports, as importers could be waiting for a more favorable exchange rate ahead to compensate for the recent devaluation of the BRL.
