SteelOrbis has learned from a market source that China has been able to export HRC to Uruguay.

According to a trader based out of Buenos Aires, who also manages steel exports for the Uruguayan market, China recently sold HRC to the South American nation at $330/mt CFR.

“Despite being a small market, the import price for HRC in Uruguay has been similar to that of other South American countries,” the trader said.

Data from the nation’s customs authority shows Uruguay is a net importer of HRC.
