In the UAE flat steel market, local producers' HDG offers are at the level of $900-925/mt delivered to customer, while HDG offers from India to the UAE are standing at $800-900/mt CFR, depending on product size and coating.
As Indian producers' HDG offers to the UAE do not include five percent import duty and as delivery costs also need to be added, local buyers in the UAE are showing only very slight interest in these offers. On the other hand, buyers in the UAE prefer to conclude deals for domestic production as local producers' lead times are shorter than the lead times for imports.
