The Brazilian producers are negotiating slab export offers in a range of $430/mt to $435/mt, FOB conditions for the base commercial grades, the same as last week, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

The source added that for negotiations with US customers, starting in September, the Brazilian producers maintain expectations to close deals in a range of $450/mt to $460/mt FOB. Meanwhile, the producers remain focused on deals with clients in the EU, Latin America and Asia.

In July, Brazil exported 435,300 mt of slab, against 430,300 mt in June. Preliminary indications from the country’s customs authorities point to an increase in August from the volume of slab exported from Brazil in July.
