According to sources, the first Brazilian slab export deal for shipments in December was closed at $528/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
The price was slightly lower than expectations in the range of $530/mt to $540/mt, unveiled by exporters last week.
Sources mentioned that the negotiations included an exchange of lower price for higher volumes, reportedly resulting in three large shipments at that same price.
In September, Brazil exported 497,100 mt of slab, in average at $655/mt, FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in August.
