Brazilian export slab offers to Asian clients are currently negotiated in a FOB price range of $355/mt to $365/mt, comparable to $350/mt to $360/mt last week, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, with freight rates to the region stable in a range of $35/mt to $40/mt.
For exports to Europe, offers are now quoted at $355/mt to $365/mt, against $350/mt to $360/mt last week, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades, although sources say that only a few deals were actually closed, having Italy and Turkey as destinations. Freight rates to the region are stable at $25/mt in average.
To the US, offers are today in the $390/mt to $400/mt FOB range, against $365/mt to $375/mt last week, with average freight rates of $15/mt for shipments to the East coast and $25/mt to the West coast.
Preliminary indications from Brazilian customs authorities remain pointing to a higher volume of slab exported in June than the 523,000 mt exported in May.
