Brazilian slab producers are negotiating exports to the US in a range of $585/mt to $595/mt, FOB conditions for the product of the basic commercial grades, comparable with a range of $580/mt to $590/mt last week, a market source told SteelOrbis.
The source mentioned that $550/mt, under the same conditions, is the reference price for the negotiations with European clients, against $540/mt last week.
In June, Brazil exported 741,500 mt of slab, the highest monthly volume since October 2017.
Ternium Brazil exported 328,600 mt to the US at $592/mt and 8,500 mt to Italy at $460/mt; Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem exported 154,400 mt to the US at $590/mt, 46,000 mt to Mexico at $583/mt, 40,000 mt to Turkey at $585/mt and 25,200 mt to Poland at $595/mt; while ArcelorMittal Tubarao exported 133,700 mt to the US at $599/mt and 4,800 mt to South Korea at $435/mt, all FOB conditions, with deals probably closed in April and including different quality grades.
