Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has issued its prices for carbon steel flat products for delivery in June. The details are as follows (comparisons are with May delivery prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRC):
a) Prices of products from Baosteel's main steel production base have decreased by RMB 80/mt ($13/mt).
2. Hot rolled pickled products:
Prices of products from both Baosteel's main steel production base and its Shanghai-based subsidiary Meishan Steel, including SPHC, SPHD, SPHE, BRC1,BRC3, BTC160S, BTC210R, BTC245R, BTC330R, BTC340R and BTC360R grades have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt). Prices of other products have remained stable.
3. Cold rolled (CR) products:
a) Prices of cold rolled products, including common quality (CQ) grade and non-auto usage quality steel, including SAE1008, SAE1010, SAE1020, SYHS, BAK, St37-2G, St44-3G, St52-3G, DJL245/250/300/350/400/450/500, B485NL, 05CuPCrNi, 09CuPCrNi, B800NQ, B400NQ, B450NQ, B460NQ, DT4E, BSP-1, BTC1, BHG1, BCB-1, BCB-2 and BDAK, from the main steel base have been reduced by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt).
b) Products from Meishan Steel are RMB 100/mt ($16/mt) lower in price than products from
the main steel base.
4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG):
a) Prices of common quality (CQ) grade, S series and HDG base plates from the main steel base have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt), with other product prices remaining stable.
b) Prices of products from Meishan Steel have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt).
5. Electro-galvanized (EG) products:
Prices of CQ products are down RMB 100/mt ($16/mt), while prices of other products are unchanged.
6. Galvalume:
Prices of products of thickness >= 0.8 mm from both the main steel base and Meishan Steel have declined by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt).
7. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steel prices:
Prices have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt).
8. Grain-oriented (GO) electrical steel prices:
Prices of 23R series have increased by RMB 200/mt ($32/mt), while other prices have remained unchanged.
All the above price changes are effective from May 11 and exclude 17 percent VAT
