Flats offers given to UK traders in the UK domestic and import markets are as follows:
Origin | Product | Price |
HRC 2- 4 mm | £430/mt ex-works + VAT
CRC (base) | £478/mt ex-works + VAT
HRC 4-12 mm | £380/mt CFR | |
HRC 2- 4 mm | £410/mt CFR | |
CRC (base) | £450/mt CFR | |
HRC 2- 4 mm | £425/mt CFR | |
CRC (base) | £450/mt CFR |
Last month, UK origin 2-4 mm HRC prices were in the range of £400-410/mt ex-works + VAT, while CRC base prices were at £440-450/mt ex-works + VAT. Meanwhile, current Chinese origin HRC offers, which are shown in the table above, are effective for December shipments.
It is expected in the UK market that Corus will increase its flats prices by £15/mt in two weeks' time. Considering the recent price increases, it is thought that the destocking process in the market is coming to an end. However, market players are concerned that flats offers given from China in particular and from other countries may hold back the local price increases. Meanwhile, it is thought that capacity increases in the market will cast a shadow on the supply-demand equilibrium.
