Russia’s stainless roll output reduces

Russia produced 63'700 tons of stainless steel roll in January-July 2004 period, down by 14.8% compared to the same period of last year. This figure includes 11'300 tons of cold rolled stainless steel sheet. Russia's largest stainless roll producer Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant produced 30'450 tons in the mentioned period with a 28% drop. The production of Elektrostal and Serpi Molot decreased by 6% and 7% to 7'060 tons and 4'490 tons respectively. On the other hand, Krasny Oktyabr increased its stainless steel roll output by 44% to 3'990 tons. Izhstal produced 4'730 tons of stainless roll, up by 3.8% from a year earlier.
