Colombia’s GDP expands in Q2

Colombia's economic growth indicated an upward trend in the second quarter of the year due to expansion in the construction, oil and mining sectors, according to the statement made by Finance Ministry. Central Bank's preliminary data shows that country's GDP (Gross Domestic Product) grew by 4.5% in the second quarter compared to the same period of last year. In the first quarter, Colombia's GDP increased by 4.08% from a year earlier. The government expects GDP to grow by 4% in 2004 against 3.8% recorded in 2003.
