Colombia's Acesco to launch new steel products in 2020

Colombian steelmaker Acesco said it plans to launch several new steel products this year, according to a media report by America Retail.

The steelmaker said it will make an undisclosed investment to launch three steel products by the second half of the year. The products were not specified, but they are expected to support the local civil construction market.

Felipe González Garza, executive president at Acesco, said the company plans to launch a combined 12 steel products within the next three years.

Acesco reported net sales of approximately $200 million in 2019, while steel sales volumes for the full year reached 220,000 mt. About 95 percent of Acesco’s steel sales meet the demands of the Colombian steel market, according to the company.
