Harris Steel acquires rebar business from Lafarge

Harris Steel Group has recently announced that it has acquired the reinforcing bar business of Lafarge Canada Inc. Through the acquisition, Harris' presence will expand in British Colombia and Alberta. The acquisition is a part of Harris' plan to grow its business in regional markets in Canada and the US. Moreover, with the acquisition Harris' presence in construction sector will expand. The deal, covering acquisition of all assets and employees of Lafarge's reinforcing steel division in British Colombia and Alberta, has been concluded at $2.1 million.
