Zaporizhstal issues 2009 production results

The Ukrainian steelmaker Zaporizhstal has issued its preliminary production results for 2009.

Accordingly, in 2009 Zaporizhstal decreased its finished steel production by 15.5 percent and its crude steel production by 16.9 percent year on year, to about 2.75 million mt and 3.28 million mt respectively. Zaporizhstal's agglomerate production went down by 12.2 percent year on year and its pig iron production declined by 16.8 percent year. The respective figures in metric tons were about 4.76 million and 2.73 million.

Zaporizhstal produces hot rolled and cold rolled sheet of 0.5-7.0 mm thickness of carbon, low alloy, alloy and stainless steels. About 70 percent of its products are exported to more than 70 countries.
