Xinhua-China Iron Ore Price Index sees significant decline

According to the Xinhua-China Iron Ore Price Index issued by China's state-owned Xinhua News Agency, on July 23 the price index for 63.5 percent Fe content imported iron ore stood at 128 points, down nine points week on week, while the price index for 58 percent grade imported iron ore was at 109 points, indicating a decrease of seven points week on week.

As of July 23, inventory of iron ore at Chinese ports totaled 98.48 million mt, down 220,000 mt on week-on-week basis.
