Xingcheng Special Steel develops 900 mm alloy continuous casting round billet

Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jiangyin Xingcheng Special Steel has successfully developed 900 mm diameter alloy steel continuous casting round billet - the largest size in the world for such billet.
 
The new product can be applied in sectors including wind power, petrochemicals and mechanical engineering. The billet in question can be used produced to large bearings, forging pieces, thick wall seamless steel pipes and large mechanical parts.
 
In 2010, Jiangyin Xingcheng Special Steel's sales revenues amounted to RMB 20 billion ($3.04 billion), up 17 percent year on year, with a net profit of RMB 1.319 billion ($0.2 billion), up 28.9 percent year on year.
