World motor vehicle output up two percent in Q2

In the second quarter of this year, world motor vehicle output totaled 46,509,693 units, up two percent year on year, according to the data released by Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles" (OICA).
 
In the given quarter, motor vehicle output rose by 4.3 percent in Turkey to 11,439,352, decreased by 23.2 percent in the CIS to 611,165, increased in Turkey by 8.7 percent to 725,477 and in the NAFTA region by 2.2 percent to 9,237,597, while output in South America narrowed by 19.8 percent to 1,231,619, all year on year.
 
In the second quarter of 2016, passenger car production in the world totaled 35,017,421 units, up 1.3 percent year on year. In the mentioned quarter, passenger car production rose in Europe by four percent to 10,060,824, decreased in the CIS by 26 percent to 532,993, increased in Turkey by 12.6 percent to 441,366, and declined in the NAFTA region by six percent to 3,441,323 and in South America by 20.4 percent to 949,432, all year on year.
