Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Group Corp. (WISCO) has announced that it has supplied a small trial batch of galvanized steel sheet for application in car side panels, produced at its cold rolled sheet plant in Wuhan, to an unnamed domestic joint venture high-end car manufacturer. The trial supply in question marks WISCO's entry into the market for galvanized steel sheet for high-end car manufacture.

WISCO finally succeeded in its trial production of the galvanized auto sheet in question after five successive tests. WISCO's overall monthly output of galvanized sheet had increased to 19,000 mt in September this year, from the initial monthly output volume of 2,000 mt.
