West Asia Steel officially inaugurated by Ahmadinejad

West Asia Steel, a new Iranian cold rolled coil (CRC) producer with an annual production capacity of 500,000 mt, has been formally inaugurated by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Thursday, May 26.
 
An investment of about Rials 2.3 trillion (approx. $220 million) has been spent on the project and about 600 persons are to be employed at the mill. West Asia Steel, located in the province of Qom, is a privately-owned rolling mill.
 
Construction of the second phase of West Asia Steel, consisting of a galvanizing mill with an annual capacity of 200,000 mt, was launched on the same date.
