Vyksa Steel Works (part of Russia-based OMK Group) has announced its production results for March and for the first quarter of the current year. Accordingly, in Q1 Vyksa Steel Works' output of steel tubes exceeded 446,000 mt, including 274,000 mt of large diameter tubes. In March alone, Vyksa Steel Works produced 150,000 mt of steel tubes, including 90,000 mt of large diameter tubes.
In the first quarter, Vyksa Steel Works increased its output of railway wheels by 42.5 percent year on year to 202,700 wheels. In March this year, Vyksa Steel Works produced 72,600 railway wheels, up 14 percent compared to March 2010.
Market sources state that the rise in production of railway wheels in 2011 is supported by the implementation of the contract with Vyksa Steel Works' key partner - Russian Railways.
