Vale’s new vessel will help bypass Chinese ban on ore ships

Brazil-based iron ore producer, Vale, announced on Wednesday the delivery of a ship that will help the company bypass the Chinese ban on Vale's large ships. The ban from the ports in China is due to the size of the ships that Vale has coming over from Brazil. These ships are about twice the normal size that the Chinese ports are used to handling.

The Ore Fabrica is the newest vessel joining Vale's fleet of valemaxes. The idea behind this newly converted transshipment vessel is to allow the large amounts of iron ore to be transferred to smaller ships that will be able to go into the ports because their size will be manageable. This new operation will be based at Subic Bay, located in the Philippines
