According to reports from the industry, following the completion of National Steel takeover including two integrated works with a 7 million short ton annual crude steel capacity, a cold rolling and coil coating plant, an iron ore pellet and other National Steel subsidiaries and joint ventures, US Steel's annual steel production capacity will grew up to 18 million tons (19.7 million short ton). It is also reported that this acquisiton will inevitably increase strength of US Steel's position particularly in tin mill and automotive sheet markets.
