According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of rebar totaled 101,984 mt in January this year, up 76.3 percent month on month and down 38.5 percent year on year. By value, rebar imports totaled $56.86 million in January this year, compared to $31.91 million in December and $105.22 million in January 2025.
The US imported the most rebar from Turkey in January with 47,112 mt, compared to 49,880 mt in December and 29,953 mt in January last year. Other top sources of imported rebar in January include Portugal with 19,572 mt, Brazil with 17,011 mt, and South Korea with 9,225 mt.
