US rebar exports up 9.2 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 28,775 mt in April 2023, up 9.2 percent from March and up 21.0 percent from April 2022. By value, rebar exports totaled $21.7 million in April, compared to $18.3 million in the previous month and $20.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in April with 17,812 mt, compared to 19,661 mt in March and 16,325 mt in April 2022. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 3,577 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in April.
