According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 13,911 mt in May this year, up 57.8 percent month on month and down 19.5 percent year on year. By value, rebar exports totaled $12.1 million in May, compared to $4.9 million in the previous month and $14.6 million in the same month last year.
The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in May with 8,362 mt, compared to 3,744 mt in April and 10,924 mt in May last year. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in May.
