US rebar exports rise 55.5 percent in March

US exports of rebar totaled 21,989 mt in March, up 55.5 percent from February but down 0.9 percent from March 2016 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $12.5 million in March, compared to $8.2 million in the previous month and $11.7 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in March, with 16,872 mt, compared to 12,120 mt in February and 18,348 mt in March 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 2,904 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in March.
