US rebar exports rise 2.9 percent in October

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 37,615 mt in October, up 2.9 percent from September and up 84.0 percent from October 2016 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $24.8 million in October, compared to $25.2 million in the previous month and $12.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in October with 33,739 mt, compared to 35,489 mt in September and 18,208 mt in October 2016. Other top destinations included Dominican Republic, with 2,811 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US export rebar in October.
