US rebar exports drop 10.9 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 36,541 mt in September, down 10.9 percent from August but up 67.6 percent from September 2016 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $25.2 million in September, compared to $27.1 million in the previous month and $12.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in September with 35,489 mt, compared to 39,039 mt in August and 18,181 mt in September 2016. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) for US export rebar in September.
