US line pipe imports down 31.8 percent in October from September

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of line pipe totaled 44,416 mt in October this year, down 31.8 percent from September and down 59.3 percent year on year. By value, line pipe imports totaled $61.4 million in October this year, compared to $89.3 million in September and $102.7 million in October 2023.

The US imported the most line pipe from South Korea in October with 18,212 mt compared to 31,402 mt in September and 22,782 mt in October last year. Other top sources of imported line pipe in October include Ukraine with 5,877 mt, Japan with 4,174 mt, Mexico with 4,049 mt, Brazil with 2,578 mt, South Africa with 2,578 mt, and Italy with the United Kingdom with 1,290 mt.
