US HDG exports fall 3.2 percent in October

US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strips totaled 101,006 mt in October, down 3.2 percent from September and down a scant 7 mt from October 2015 levels. By value, exports totaled $100.2 million in October, down 3.3 percent month-on-month and up 2.1 percent year-on-year.
 
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in October, with 55,446 mt, compared to 55,789 mt in September and 51,714 mt in October 2015. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 42,887 mt compared to 46,111 mt in September and 47,910 mt in October 2015. There were no other notable destinations for US export HDG with tonnage levels surpassing 1,000 mt.
