According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 92,422 mt in March 2020, down 13.8 percent from February and down 9.7 percent from March 2019 levels. By value, HDG exports totaled $96.9 million in March, compared to $112.5 million in the previous month and $114.5 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in March with 47,520 mt, compared to 54,870 mt in February and 59,734 mt in March 2019. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 42,729 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in March.
