On October 20, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the rescission of its countervailing duty administrative review on stainless steel plate in coils from Belgium.
Following a timely request dated June 1, 2009, to conduct an administrative review covering the period January 1, 2008, through December 31, 2008 from ArcelorMittal Stainless Belgium N.V. (AMS Belgium), on June 24 the DOC published in the Federal Register the notice of initiation of this administrative review of the countervailing duty order on stainless steel plate in coils from Belgium covering one respondent, AMS Belgium, for the period in question.
On September 22, 2009, AMS Belgium timely withdrew its request for review. Thus, the DOC has rescinded this administrative review pursuant to the act laying down the DOC will rescind an administrative review, in whole or in part, if the parties that requested a review withdraw the request within 90 days of the date of publication of the notice of initiation of the requested review.
