On Friday, January 15, 2010, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping (AD) order against certain steel nails from China.

Following the review, which covers the period from January 23, 2008 through January 31, 2009 the DOC found that Qingdao Denarius Manufacture Co. sold subject merchandise at less than normal value. The DOC has calculated a preliminary dumping margin of 38.13 percent for the company.

Steel nails subject to the proceeding are currently classified under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) subheadings 7317.00.55, 7317.00.65 and 7317.00.75.

The DOC intends to issue the final results in mid-April.
