US DOC issues final AD results for stainless steel bar from India

On September 3, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the final results of its antidumping (AD) duty administrative review for stainless steel bar from India, announcing margin changes compared to the preliminary results.

As a result of its administrative review covering February 1, 2008, through January 31, 2009, the US DOC has come to the conclusion that the subject merchandise was sold at prices less than normal value in the US. Accordingly, the institution determined dumping margins of zero percent and 0.42 percent (de minimus) for Ambica Steels Limited and Venus Wire Industries Pvt. Ltd respectively. Venus Wire Industries Pvt. Ltd's final margin compares with 5.54 percent in the preliminary determination.

Imports of steel plate are currently classified in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) under subheadings 7222.11.00.05, 7222.11.00.50, 7222.19.00.05, 7222.19.00.50, 7222.20.00.05, 7222.20.00.45, 7222.20.00.75 and 7222.30.00.00
