According to the latest report by Baker Hughes, for the week ending November 18, the US rig count fell by 15 to 2,001, but was still up 324 rigs from the same period last year. Both gas and oil rigs contributed to the decline--gas rigs were down by six last week to 871 and oil rigs fell by eight to 1,125.

The Canadian rig count also decreased in the last week, falling 13 rigs to 487, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 69 rigs.
