US and Canadian rig counts fall again

According to the latest report by Baker Hughes, for the week ending December 29, the Canadian rig count plunged by 185 to 221 and was down 25 year-on-year.

The US rig count fell by one in the week ending December 29 to 2,007, up 313 year-over-year. Oil rigs fell by eight last week to 1,193 and were up 428 from the same week a year ago, while gas rigs increased by seven to 809, and were down 110 rigs year-on-year.
