US and Canadian rig counts fall

According to the most recent report by Baker Hughes, for the week ending September 9, the US rotary rig count fell by 10 from the previous week to 1,958. This reflects a year-on-year increase of 304 rigs.

Oil rigs led the decline in total US rig counts, falling seven from last week (up 394 year-on-year); gas rigs were down three (down 88 year-on-year).

The Canadian rig count also fell and is down two in the last week to 515, representing a year-on-year increase of 132 rigs.
