US AD petition filed against Chinese silica bricks and shapes

On Thursday, an antidumping (AD) petition was filed against silica bricks and shapes from China. The petitioner is Utah Refractories Corporation, which claims to be the last remaining US producer of silica bricks and shapes.

Silica bricks and shapes are used in cokes ovens and other industrial applications, including glass furnace crowns, glass tank walls, tunnel kilns, and regenerators. Silica bricks and shapes are primarily classified under HTSUS subheading 6902.20.1020. The petition alleges dumping margins of 190 to 467 percent.
