Ukrainian companies to import coking coal

Anatoly Starovoit, head of  Ukrainian Coke Association (UkrKoks),has confirmed to SteelOrbis that two Ukrainian steelmakers, Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD) and ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, subsidiary of world's largest steel producer ArcelorMittal, have concluded supply agreements to import two million metric tons of coking coal from the US and Canada in 2008.

Although the volume of coking coal each company will import has not been disclosed, ISD and ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih are thought likely to account for respective 60 percent and 40 percent shares of the import total.
